Alexander McQueen's "A Queen Within" Sneak Preview in St. Louis

"In the game of chess, the queen is considered the most powerful and many times the most unpredictable piece," as are the designs of Alexander McQueen.  Last night in St. Louis,  Fashion Group International hosted a special sneak preview of A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes, Fashion and chess, it's an exhibit that will open on October 19, 2013, with extremely rare pieces from one of the world's largest private collections.

Last night's event was held at the World Chess Hall of Fame in the Central West End and it was incredibly informing and inspiring.  The amazing curators enriched our knowledge of one of the most beloved designers, who definitely left this world too soon.  The pieces shown were intricate, multi-dimensional and every aspect of the design was calculated.  We were surprised to learn that some of the pieces did not only have one design but several within a piece that had it's own functionality.  The pieces were finely crafted with the most beautiful textiles.

The atmosphere was awesome, FGI St. Louis is the pre-eminent authority on the business of fashion and if you would like membership information contact me. They created a wonderful networking atmosphere for fashion professionals and connoisseurs of fashion, provided a variety of hor derv's and cocktails, and there was a 10% discount to shop the World Chess Hall of Fame gift shop! It was a wonderful time last night and you have the chance to see this great exhibit this fall.  The exhibit will actually kick of in St. Louis and then head around the world. Here are the deets:
